Sligo LEADER Partnership is running a new training programme ‘Create your own Digital Business’.

The programme is designed to assist those who have an idea for a digital business to assess that idea and bring it to a pre commercial or commercial stage. It is also suitable for those who have recently started a new digital based business and wish to further develop their skills in technical and business areas.

The programme will take place in the Image Centre, Enniskillen which is a state of the art digital business laboratory with equipment and expert tutors in digital business. The course will take place over 5 full days, starting on July 8,with one day per week thereafter. The course is free for participants. Read More »

Swell Sligo is funded by the Sligo LEADER Partnership. While LEADER has a strong reputation for supporting food and tourism related businesses, it has not always been associated as a go-to agency for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

We spoke with Shona Heffernan of Sligo LEADER Partnership on why they chose to support Swell Sligo and what other supports they offer Sligo businesses and potential start-ups.

What does Sligo LEADER Partnership do?
County Sligo LEADER Partnership Company is responsible for delivering programmes which are aimed at developing and improving the quality of life for the people of Sligo. The company was formed in 1996 in an effort to address locally the issues of economic and social underdevelopment in County Sligo. Sligo LEADER Partnership and has been contracted to deliver the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 in Co. Sligo.
As part of its remit, Co. Sligo LEADER Partnership works with SMEs and Start-ups to develop their business by providing a range of supports including mentoring, marketing, equipment, training and capital support.
